ATHAMES

The athame (or magick knife) has an ancient history, it usually isn't used for cutting purposes, but to direct energy raised during rites and spells. It is seldom used to invoke or call upon the Deities for it is an instrument of commanding and power manipulation. It is often used to cast the Magick Circle, to call upon the four quarters and in the symbolic Great Rite.
